Happy Mother's Day! I hope everyone has a lovely day celebrating all the special people in their life!
Last week we worked hard preparing our own Mother's Day books.
I just love these answers!
We also celebrated Catholic Education Week and our school put on an Art Show.
We worked with Artist Caroline to create these beautiful paintings on canvas with a clay heart on top as the theme was "LOVE".
Here's a look at our centres this week:
Can you create a bridge?
I love these rainbow spools from Quality Classrooms!
Can you form a letter using Wikki Stix?
Roll the coin die and stack the money.
We've been learning all about Canadian coins over the past few weeks!
We are continuing with colour mixing at our Science and Discovery Centre.
What colours can you make?
We added the story The Napping House with felt props to our Felt Board.
Our Sensory Bin is filled with water and dandelions that the students collected to make "Dandelion Soup".
For our fine motor mini lesson this week we will have students use chopsticks to move the droplets of coloured water to the correct glass. These papers are in page protectors that have oil wiped across them so that the water slides easily.
At our Game Table, students can play "Dice War" or "Dice Challenge" as we call it.
Each student rolls their die and the person with the higher number gets a point.
Students can checkmark or tally their answers.
You can find this in my huge Number Sense in Kindergarten pack in my TpT store.
In religion, we will be learning about Mother Mary and doing a directed drawing of her.
You can find this in my May Religion pack in my TpT store.
We are moving on to our Telling Time unit in math for the next couple of weeks.
One of my lessons this week is called the "1 minute challenge" where we experience just how long one minute is!
We will be using these large posters to show what time we do things in school.
Students will be working in small groups building a clock.
This is a very old large clock I made out of a shower curtain.
I love how students can walk on it and move the hands to show the time.
One of my favourite nursery rhymes is Hickory Dickory Dock which we will be using to learn about "o'clock".
You can find everything above, as well as 2-weeks of complete lesson plans, in my Telling Time in Kindergarten pack in my TpT store.
Here are my weekly plans if you'd like to download!
