Mother's Day is just around the corner (I can't believe it's already May!!!).
We started this week on our Mother's Day books.
I saw this idea originally on the Hello Wonderful blog and thought it was simply the most adorable thing ever! I wanted to change a few of the questions and make it editable so that my colleagues could modify it for their own classrooms (and you can too!).
The children loved answering the questions inside!
Take a peek...
I can't wait to read the other answers as we continue working on them this week!
Here's what else we are doing for Mother's Day.
This is our poem for next week. I'm prepping it so that the students can build it in the pocket chart also.
We always introduce a new poem for the week every Monday. We read the poem several times (in different voices), point to letters/words, find rhyming words, etc. and then I cut the words up and place them in the pocket chart along with a copy of the poem for the students to rebuild.
It's also great practice for finding sight words!
You can find this poem here.
And I was sure to include a whole bunch of books about mothers in my Listening Center QR Code Read-Alouds - May pack.
How do QR Codes work? Download the *free* QR reader app to scan the QR codes.
Will it work at my school? Try it now! Click the picture below and scan the codes to hear the books come to life!
Have a great rest of the week and don't forget to check back this weekend for my Weekly Wrap-Up to see all that we were working on!
