If you live in the US, you'll want to check out the website Donors Choose, and if you are Canadian, the website My Class Needs both offer teachers the opportunity to ask potential donors to help fund an item(s) for their classroom.

I used My Class Needs last spring and asked donors to help fund a guided reading table for my classroom....guess what?  I got a guided reading table!
